SOLO 30x30 IN LIÈGE

After being seen in cities such as London, Rome, Montreal, Lyon, Vancouver, and New York, Paul-André Fortier’s Solo 30x30 will travel to Belgium, where it will be presented by Théâtre de la Place from September 3 to October 3 as part of Liège, Métropole Culture 2010. Liège will be the 13th city to host this 30-minute site-specific piece that takes place outdoors, everyday, for 30 days. Solo 30x30 has just ended a run in New York, where it was presented by the Joyce Theater and Arts Brookfield Properties, as part of the River to River Festival. By the end of this New York experience in the heart of Manhattan’s business district, Paul-André Fortier had executed his solo 360 times, which represents an entire year of performances since the piece was created in 2006.

CABANE ON TOUR ACROSS QUEBEC AND CANADA

This fall, Paul-André Fortier will present Cabane at the Agora de la danse on November 18 and 19, 2010. This will be its first time back in Montreal since its creation at the Festival TransAmériques in 2008.

« (…) Cabane, a multimedia work by choreographer Paul-André Fortier and performer, composer, designer and visual artist Rober Racine, charms with its ingenious constructions, including a harp made of steel mattress springs. As it travels from place to place, it is just the type of vehicle that allows art to break into new undiscovered places. » Libération, M.C Verney

Cabane will then go on tour across Quebec. It will be performed at Centennial Theatre in Lennoxville on November 9, at the Festival de théâtre in l’Assomption on November 13, then at La Rotonde centre chorégraphique in Quebec City on the November 23 and 24, followed by a performance at Théâtre du Bic on December 4, in Sept-Îles on March 7, 2011 and at Théâtre de Baie-Comeau on March 9.
Cabane will also cross Canada, with performances on February 3 and 5 at the Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers, on February 10 and 12 at DanceWorks in Toronto and then on February 17 and 19 at Live Arts Productions in Halifax.
