Major sucess in New York and an exciting fall in the works for Fortier Danse-Création

Paul-André Fortier has just returned from New York where his piece, Solo 30x30 attracted considerable media attention, particularly from the press. This type of coverage is unusual for a Quebec artist. Aside from numerous articles, photos and mentions in various publications and listings such as Time Out, the solo was featured in a New York Times article and broadcast on WABC and NBC television. Solo 30x30 was presented in New York as part of the River to River Festival in collaboration with the Joyce Theater and Arts Brookfield. The piece was performed at One New York Plaza, right in the heart of Manhattan’s business district, for 30 days in a row. The choreographer, who has just been appointed Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Republic of France, will then take the solo to Liège, Belgium in September 2010, the first of many exciting engagements this fall for the busy choreographer. After that, he will be involved in Visages de la danse, at Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique in Montreal, before taking Cabane on the road across Quebec and the rest of Canada through the winter of 2011.

Paul-André Fortier, recently honoured as Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the Republic of France, will divide his time this summer between Ottawa and Marseille, where he will be presenting Cabane in June and July, and New York, where he will be performing Solo 30x30 at the River to River Festival. »»

Paul-André Fortier présents Cabane in Liège and occupies a new urban space in Lorient with his Solo 30x30.
After its Canadian tour and four performances at the Dance Umbrella festival in London in fall 2009, Fortier Danse-Création will present Cabane in Liège, Belgium next week. The company will also perform Solo 30x30 at the Grand Théâtre de Lorient in France from April 1 - 30, 2010. »»

The tour continues in Edmonton, Calgary and London.
After presenting Cabane and Solo 30x30 by Paul-André Fortier in Vancouver and She, a piece he created for the choreographer and dancer Robin Poitras, Fortier Danse-Création will return to its Canadian tour of Cabane at the beginning of September with stops in Edmonton and Calgary.
